DraftKings is not only a sports gambling company, but a marketing media enterprise. During my time at Draftkings on the Talent and Influencer team, I had the opportunity to develop innovative social campaigns for some of DraftKings high-value talent partners. Some of which included Kevin Hart, David Ortiz, Tony Hawk, etc. (see more below).
With the help of my managers and team, I curated specific social posts for our partners to activate on social media surrounding big sporting events - i.e., Super Bowl, NBA Play-ins and Playoffs, and the official launch of sports betting in MA.
The Talent and Influencer team is responsible for all of Draftkings small and large talent partners and event-based influencers across all of their multi-sport verticals. While curating content for our partners to post, the team is also in charge of building strong and genuine relationships with our partners.

SUPERBOWL 57
DraftKings filmed and produced a Superbowl 57 commercial featuring Kevin Hart, Big Papi (David Ortiz), Ludacris, The UnderTaker, and Tony Hawk. The commercial aired during the Superbowl and the talent was asked to post the commercial on their accounts.
The Ask: Create a social version of the commercial that can be easily sent and accessed by the talent to post across their socials (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and Youtube). Using the commercial, create a captivating and intriguing caption to be shared to their fanbase, promoting the new customer messaging and urging fans to get involved on the app. The idea was to have a short but punchy tagline for each celebrity to uniquely market the commercial and themselves.
Leading up to the Superbowl, we created graphics and short videos, giving fans a sneak peak into the commercial and the customer deal. The social plan was to be executed over a two week social calendar that was sent to each of the talent’s agents.
Massachusetts State Launch
On March 10th, 2023 sports betting became legal in Massachusetts. Headquartered and founded in Boston, DraftKings celebrated the launch in their hometown by partnering with local talent and celebrities.
Leading up to the official launch, Draftkings signed local talent, Celtics legend Brian Scalabrine, Former Red Sox player David Ortiz, Boston comedian Lenny Clarke, Former Bruins player Zdeno Chara, and MA local Aly Raisman. Working with our content and socials team, I curated a social plan for each of them to post leading up to the official launch in MA. They all supported our new customer offer for the launch, filming videos and posting graphics. They all starred in the Draftkings “Bet local” commercial that was aired all over Massachusetts, and posted across their socials. My job was to write the legal-compliant captions and give them their posting schedules.
DRAFTKINGS x UFC
DraftKings has an integrated long-term partnership with UFC and works with various active and retired UFC fighters leading up to major UFC events.
The Ask: Receive names from recruiting agency of influencers leading up to each fight. Write a brief with clear outlines for fighters to read in a promotional social video, make sure to include clear legal and timing guidelines. Once promotional videos are received, edit the videos, write captions unique to each fighter, and submit to DK legal team. Once tracked through legal, make any additional legal edits and send them back to the agency for posting.
Owned UFC influencer vertical, supporting seven major UFC events, working with 23 influencers, and reaching over one million people.
DRAFTKINGS x Jon Anik
Owned and facilitated relationship with the “voice of the UFC” Jon Anik. Created social plans surrounding large UFC events specific to Jon Anik’s social presence and personality.
Managed relationship with Jon, corresponded weekly via email, and curated unique social plans for his socials. Worked on set with Jon, helping with commercial shoot and digital content. Filmed content for social with the goal of creating hype for the new customer offers.
